Chuck Porter was born Dec 29th, 1964 and grew up in the community of Newport Station. Like most children in the neighborhood, Chuck enjoyed playing pond hockey in the winter and softball in the summer.
Chuck attended Hants West Rural High School in Brooklyn as well as Windsor Regional High.
After graduating High School, Chuck received a Dip.Ed from St.FX, a Dip. Man from Saint Mary’s and a Diploma in Advanced Care Paramedicine at Holland College.
Before Chuck began his career serving Nova Scotia, he worked as a Paramedic for 17 years, which also included a leadership role in the Communications Division of Emergency Medical Care Inc. in the area of quality assurance and Staff Development.
Prior to being elected to the Nova Scotia Legislature in 2006, Chuck represented the Town of Windsor as a Municipal Councillor. Chuck is currently the Deputy House Leader for the PC Caucus. His important committee roles have included Vice Chair of Public Accounts, Vice Chair of Human Resources, Veteran's Affairs, Economic Development, Member of the International Energy Council for Nova Scotia and the Internal Economy Board as well as Deputy Government House Leader.
Chuck has thoroughly enjoyed representing the great people of Hants West for the past six years and with your support is looking forward to serving you for years to come.
Chuck and his wife Leslie and their family reside in the Town of Windsor.
