Hants West MLA Chuck Porter is encouraging parents from across Hants West to get the necessary tips and tools to help their children choose a career path at the 'Parents as Career Coaches' program being offered across the province. The program is continuing until May. Young people often turn to their parents first when questions arise about choosing a career. This program gives parents the latest information on today's job market along with the tools to support their child while they make these important decisions.Topics for the two-session workshop include, changing trends in today's labour market, identifying interests and skills and connecting them to potential career options, and, how to use online government resources such as www.nscareeroptions.ca and www.brightcareerfutures.ca .

Mr. Porter said, "The program is now in it's fourth year and is facilitated by the career and transition staff at the Nova Scotia Community College."
